What color would you consider these two beagles? they are actually registered lemon and white but had a couple guys say they would call them red and white although to me the red isnt that dark. Both there sires are open marked lemon and whites.

I'd call them Red with white on them.

I agree joey, there almost a orange color. i have a female pup out of the female pictured and she is the same way.

I doesn't matter what color they are----just as long as they chase rabbits!

I typically think of "red" as almost a chocolate or a liver color. I'd call a lemon and white a lighter version of your dogs...more of a yellow and white. However, there is no "orange" color in hounds - - (there is in bird dogs, Brittany's are either orange or liver). So, I'd call those lemon and whites.

Them there hounds is neither lemon, red, or orange. THem hounds is tangerine!

Funnin' aside, they are fine looking hounds. If they run half as good as they look, they make their owner proud.

It depends, have they been running lately? If not I would call them rusty I know lame but a little funny

Thanks for all the comments, the first one is a young male thats coming along well. He has had 20 rabbits killed to him so far. The second is a 3yr old female that is a very hard hunting, big nosed beagle. Both are spo bred with alot of stubby in them. medium speed, close on there checks with good line control. If the male turns out to be pretty good then i might breed them. Then id have a whole litter of orange dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!

red and white

Joeyman's hound you would call a black/white & tan, so I'd call them Tan & white, as their colour is the same as Joey's hound's head.

I'd say since the sun is hitting them with the picture, they are red. KC
