I traveled back home to the mountains in Pike County to visit the folks, and got some good hunting in over the weekend. Saturday I met up with Mike Riley, Lynn Perkins, and Jason Campbell. We had some good running with some veteran dogs on the ground and we ended up taking 4 rabbits. Mike, Lynn, and I also went this morning and we got 3 more from the same area. I had a great time visiting with Lynn, Mike, and Jason. We had a blast, thats for sure!! Running was tougher on sunday morning, but the younger dogs really stepped it up. Thanks to Mike for putting us in rabbits, I'll be back up in about 3 weeks for some Thanksgiving hunting. I heard through the grapevine that Lynn and Mike are going to star in the next sequel to "Grumpy Old Men" lol......

For those of you that don't know, Mike has been voted in as Johnny Mike's replacement in the cornbred mafia, his application is currently under review.
I took a few snapshots saturday when I could...
The sun getting ready to rise over the mountain
WHAT A VIEW!! This makes me miss home even more!
Lynn watching the dogs work on the hillside
Mike Riley AKA "Precious" giving me the thumbs up to let me know he's got the road behind him covered!
Does anyone recognize this ol dog?? He doesn't miss opening day no matter what!

Blair, here's fair warning. One more semester (student teaching at East Ridge) and I'm on my way back. Took my entire family opening day. Got 4 really hard, driving races but all out of Luke's 28 ga. range. (didn't stay too long, 6 yr old girls don't have a hgue attn span and I don't want to burn out Jessi early) Luke wants to take a 20 now (he's 5'1", yeah, you been gone a long time!) but I don't have one with a youth stock. I have kept 4 hounds through Meranda's 2 years of school and my 3 years so I have the beginnings. I see Riley sometimes when I get out of class early enough to pick upthe kids myself. He has my vote to replace Johnny Mike, but he needs to have some sort of accident. He has waaaaay too many teeth!

Went with Riley this morning and you can bet that he didn't leave the road much he held down the rhino and made sure no one stole it
