A little help please

Our beagle pup stays in the house and I just pulled him out of the trash. He ate some tin foil before I got to him. Should I give him some ipecac to vomit him or some petroleum jelly to lube it through? Or if there's something else I can do, please let me know. Hubby has the car for a few more hours so rushing to the vets isn't an option till it's too late to vomit him.

Thanks all.

I wouldn't worry about it. My dogs eat all kinds of stuff from nuts to charcoal briquets it all comes out.

Mine would have been beter born with a gizzard  . Some of the things he eats scare me, and sometimes it's stuff ya don't want to talk about :censored:. Now and then he'll wretch till it comes up, or pass things undescribable :annoyed: . When my kitchen chairs start moving across the floor, I know he's up to no good too. Got him his first rawhide bone today.....he loves that thing! I hope this keeps him busy a while. And in time , he'll grow out of a lot of this, I hope  .

Thanks guys.
I got some advice to wait an hour and see if he throws it up on his own and if not (he didn't) to tear some cotton balls into little pieces and get petroleum jelly on them and feed him that. The theory is that the cotton will bind anything sharp an the PJ will ease it through, so that's what we did.

I feel bad for the little fella having to pass it!!!

Ever see the string that goes around a slice of bologna, the kind you slice yourself? Seen it in stools plenty of times in the past when beagles get into places they shouldn't. must have cast iron stomachs. YUCK!

Thanks for the peroxide tip! I'll remember that.

He hasn't passed anything yet, but he is his usual bright, perky self. He scarfed his dinner as usual last night and is hanging on the couch with my daughter right now. I'll give him a little more PJ in a while to make sure everything comes out ok.
