How many dogs do you guys run for hunting rabbits? I only have one right now, but really want to get another soon. I can see this getting very addicting. Love the dogs! What seems to be a good # for running?

When i go to kill i take about 6 dogs with me.2 or 3 is all you need.It is hard on one dog to get the job done right.Hope this helps.

It just depends on how the dogs handle.I run 8 .But got 12. 5 young dogs.I don t want to take them all at one time now.

1 or 2 is plenty
if some one goes with me than they bring 1 or 2
but i like hearing lots of hounds
it like listening to sweet mountain music

I take 7 dont hunt with any one else, that way I always got one on the front end

We run between 3 and 8 most of the time. Sometimes I like to solo a hound or a hound and a pup. Most of the time there is 2 or 3 of us that go, and we take 2 or sometimes 3 each. Mostly it depends on the young hounds we have. We try and take 1 or 2 hounds atleast 2 years old, and the rest are usually under 14 months.

I'm runnin 6 grown dogs this year. in years past i've run 8 to 10 dogs , but its very difficult to get 8 to 10 to be compatible the way i like for a pack to run. I also like to run my dogs just by themselves, if someone brings there dogs we run thiers first or second , not being mean just dont want my hounds pickin up no bad habits.

if i am going to hunt i take 4 to 6.Just running for fun i will take older hound with maybe 1 or 2 younger hounds. This year all of my hounds [7] are well season for hunting but i've got 6 pups that will be able to run with the older hounds around the last of Jan.
