what is the fastest hound you guys ever seen. has there ever been one you could go hunting and not have to take the gun to get rabbits?

im real sure you needed a gun but Steve Orwillers Annie dog was one of the fastest i have seen

A female named Bartley Star owned by Thomas Brown. She wasn't all beagle but she could flat leave a pack of dogs.

Brankos Julius Cesar, I think was his akc name we called him JC.He has been gone for a couple of years lived to be 14 years old, Walter Sharp and i hunted one day he caught 6 rabbits in a cedar thicket, straight up caught em run em down. He was 3 at that time. Placed everywhere he went and was ugly as anything, sorry i dont remember his parents but it was nothing for jc to catch a rabbit about everytime out. Great old dog.

Many a good hound were gutted in evansville indiana by spade.As a young hound, nothing i ever saw could lead by much for long at all, he could make dogs look silly in the mines

i judged spade in kansas when the dogs took a rabbit out of a briar patch on the edge of a green field and you talk about stretchin a pack out WOW! nobody could have ran with that dog that day and got it all..he prolly put 80 yards or so on the pack and he was right on that rabbits butt...i mean rollin

When spade was bobbys in evansville we hunted for several days, i saw him lap a pack of dogs,
not cut , LAP EM. Thus the name sea biscut was bestowed on him. Ask ol will mason about it.
He would beat his self more than he was ever beaten, learned at 4 how to law down on a rabbit.....Many a hound fell victim to spade.

abshire that is the type of hound that i am talking about is there anything still alive that has that type of speed most guys dont know what speed it i try to tell them if they got speed in there kennel there dogs will catch rabbits they laugh at me i had a hound that would catch alot of rabbits in the snow

Are you taalking about LP GRCH Red Barns (Blue Sly's)Ace of Spades? He is the sire of my Magpie  female.

Spade is owned by Brian Passmore in arkansas.I have yet to see any slow hounds out of him.
There is another hound close to me called C-Grays -Bumper too Bumper. He can get shiz done too, he beat spade at evansville but he is 4 spade is 8, they tell me spade put it on him till the last rabbit, then bump come on, he is another nice hound. Bump is line bred Bigtime top and bottom. I actually have junies mom bred to bumper and she is due soon ...
