The bad...Is the earth shifting on it's axis or what?
The good...I bought LPgas 40cents cheaper in Jan. than I did back last Oct.(glad i didn't contract for the year).
The bad...Petrol gas seems to want to resist the lowering of oil prices and continue to nudge up as oil falls to 4 year low. They never had a problem keeping up when oil was surging to the moon...
The bad & good...the electricity went out last night.... Thank goodness we got it back on this morning...I love that ole wood stove...

They must have run out of colors, only goes down to -10. Computer says -31 right now...

its 8:30 am here ,-14 f,-31 f with wind,i seen on the news the other day a guy in minn. dumped a cup of hot water and it evaporated before it hit the ground ,makes me want to put my wood burner back in

It evapourated before it hit the ground? Just how cold was it? It's been in the middle minus 30s here for the last week every morning or colder, with the wind chill on some mornings it was in the middle to upper -40s celcius (-50 F or there abouts) and I was pouring out hot water for the dogs and it doesn't evaporate before it hits the ground

It does freeze pretty quick though

I saw the same thing. He pitched it up in the air and it crystalized to ice before it hit the ground..

Now that I can see! As it goes up in the air it breaks up into smaller bits of water droplets and freezes pretty quick.

-30 here this morning, it hasn't been above 0 for three days now.
Must be that global warming!

I don't see how you folks up north handle this dang stuff. It was 8 degrees here this morning and this part of the world has shut down. I can handle the 20s and 30s but I guess old age has turned me into a candy azz.
Please... keep the next artic storm up where folks can deal with it.

Well I'll make ya a deal... we'll try and keep this arctic stuff up north of the mason-dixon if y'all promise to keep those 90 degree days with 80% humidity down there.

We only got a cheap thermometer on the porch, but I think it's broke now, has said 20 deg morning, noon & night the past 3 days... ...that first evening the cold blew in must have popped the spring...

Anybody got ice thick enough to fish?

We've been ice fishing for the last two weeks On Thursday the ice was about 12-13"

Wow! I like good ice under foot but that's a lot of work drilling them holes through ice that thick...
Have you done any good finding them? Nothing better than slabs on the ice...

The bluegills are jumpin out of the hole by the buckets. Lots of people not workin in nor'east IN so there lots of action on the ice. About the 2nd and 3rd week of Feb. those big ol slab crappie ought to move into the shallows. Years ago we'd catch some 14" thru the ice on Oliver lake.

I was in Dallas all week so I missed the brutal stuff. My nostrils did freeze shut when I stepped off the plane friday morning in Ft. Wayne. I think it was -13.

I have a gas auger, so it's real easy. Been catching good crappie and largemouth bass, with some perch every once in-a-while.
