I HAVE A DOG THAT ONLY HAS 37 DIFFERENT DOGS IN THE 5 GENERATION PED.IS THIS A TIGHT PED.? OR IS THAT NOT ALL THAT UNUSUAL?

I have to admit I had to get out a five gen and count dogs.I come up with 62.
i would say 37 would indicate some pretty serious linebreeding if that is what you mean by tight.

THAT`S WHAT I MEAN.YEA I HAD TO COUNT THEM TOO.SEVERAL OF THE MATINGS WERE BROTHER SISTER I KNOW THERE ARE PUPS OUT THERE OUT OF MY DOG AND HER BROTHER OUT OF AN OLDER LITTER.I DONT KNOW IF I WOULD BREED THAT CLOSE.

My Jigs bred female only has 33 dif. dogs in a 5 gen. ped. and there are no brother sister crosses, there is one half brother half sister cross but the bottome side in that case is an outcross to each other yet all really good dogs. Most of the crosses are uncle to niece, or nephew to aunt. I would love to find a good 15in. Jigs bred male to take her to but none around. so 37 different dogs is not that bad.

i only have 16 different dogs in one of mine in a 4 gen ped.would that be considered line bred.

you got it there mine has 19 in a 4 gen. ped.

i bred to a dog a couple years ago that has either 16 or 22 i know its close his mother is his grandma

sorry guys,did a recount it was 23 in the 4 gen.wasnt as close as i thought.but still pretty close.he has ftc brankos jack of all trades twice,ifc ables east coast trimmer three times,ftc brankos close call girl twice,fc brankos dutch wiefke twice,ftc mcbrides fly on snow flake twice,ftc brankos pretty freckles twice.hows that sound.has alot more great dogs but only one time.

This breeding did not happen I just put it together to see a tight pedigree.
