Hello. Here's my first post. My name is Jeff and I live in central SD. I don't have a beagle yet but have my eye on a couple down in MO.

Having a tough time finding any breeders in SD.

If anyone knows of any, please let me know.

I'm going down to MO on April 22nd for a few days to visit friends. I may be bringing a pup home from there.

I've never been rabbit hunting with beagles so I'm quite excited about getting started. I've hunter behind many coon hounds when in High School.

Is there any breeders on here from the Springfield, MO area?

Where in S.D. are you at? I live in Wyoming. I'll probably be breeding one of my females when she comes in next time.

I live North of Pierre about 7 miles. Right smack dab in the middle of the state.

I am headed to Montana, Bozeman, the end of May. I think I am driving through S D on the way. My daughter has an intern for 2 months at the Simmental Headquarters. Can't wait to see new country.

SD, I'm in the Denver area and have had a hard time finding people with hunting beagles. It's nice to hear of someone besides me in the western part of the country.


CPC, Montana is beautiful country. I spent six months in Bozeman and loved every minute of it (except for the 45 hours I spent at work every week). There's a lot of rabbits and you can hunt em year round.

I elk hunted in Montana near Ennis and could not believe the number of Jacks and Cotttontail!
They were every where you stepped

Just wondering if running rabbits with beagles is legal in S. D.? I think some states running hounds are illegal.

Yes, it is close for the west. I've been out to Gillete a couple times. And through up to Montana on I-90.

So what do you have for beagles?

Each year , some of us fellows with Beagles meet in Saltze Mt. for a week or so camp Snoshoe hare dog running, very good running . The only bad thing, lots of deer. We go after the Snow melts. About July the 4th.
