Earl;
There's always one aint there.
I would say teeth. When they just start to get dull, maybe 2.5 to 3.5. When they are nubs..... OLD! You fill in the blanks.
It varies a little depending on what they have been fed and how good they are kept.
Hows your tomatoes doing?
Ours are suckin hind teet! To much rain and the blight has been bad.
Hope it helps you out.

Thanks Harley.We close our produce stand last week.Just in time cause we got over 8 inch rain last week too.Tomatoes were good this year.Used to be when people stop at the stand going to the lake or beach they would buy tomotoes for friends.Not anymore,they just buy for thereself now.Been at the produce stand for 27 years now.But thanks for the ? I ve just have a problem on how to tell a dog age.I ve seen guys down here trying to sell dogs at out trial and the dog would be all grey in the face and saying the dog is just 4 year old.All the dogs that I ve seen around 6 is when they start to get grey.But one of my dogs and there all sisters she is 10 and just started to show some grey.Thanks again.

Wouldn't you think stress might have something to do with it also? I have a male, getting close to 5. He is becoming real FROSTED (lol) in the face. He has always been a beautiful , well built and nice markings. Had a brown muzzle his whole life but it gets more and more white everyday. He has had a lot of "stress" in his life, meaning he has been run A LOT. He has been in a lot of LP trials and he is one of those dogs that would run himself to death if he were given the chance. Just makes me wonder if he would look the same way without all the running..............believe me, he doesn't give 2 craps how white his muzzle is so as long as he gets run a few times a week!!!TC wrote:One branch of our Line Ages Quickly they get Grey in the face at about 3 to 5 years look like they are 8 or 10..

bocephus52804 this is the same thing I was going to say. If you have a dog that has no regard for his/her body while hunting they seem to show age at an earlier age. I have had a few like that and at 3--4 years of age they looked 6--7 years old. Also if they get their faces torn up a lot while hunting the hair seems to have a tendency to start coming back white.TC wrote:

My uncle also had a male that at 2 years old all his front teeth were worn off and people would guess him to be around 7--9 years old until they took a close look at his other teeth. He used to feed his dogs a lot of beef bones from a near by slaughter house and I don't know if chewing on the bones all time wore his teeth off or not. We know he was only 2 because I bred him and gave him to my uncle as a pup and the ones that I kept had perfect teeth.
