Nothing like a bare floor for mama to clean up pups and herself.

My bitch didn't use the whelping crate this time, she found the concrete floor next to the crate as where she wanted to have them in the corner. I'd pick the pups up and place them in the crate and she would pick them up and carry them back to the floor in the corner, so I threw down a flake of straw hay and she made a nest on the cool floor and there she stayed.
One time I blocked her out of the corner and put the pups in the crate and she carried them over behind the kennel door and wanted to have them there, she just didn't want to leave them in the bed in the crate I'd made for her, females take strange notions sometimes and you "ain't gonna change their minds...

Is that cedar shavings in that box? If so, better get them out - they can get caught in the puppies throats.

Somthing about them females this year.In our litter we had 6, 5 females and 1 male.My budys litter also was 8, 7 females 1 male.Nothing wrong with that as long all are healthy.Keith.
