I know this hound was obviously good to attain IFC, but what type of hounds did he reproduce? Speed, Nose, Hunt, and Line Control?
I have a couple females with a one or more crosses of this hound relatively close. There other breeding they have I know more about.
Thanks for any and all input good or bad!

I have owned a couple of sock it to me bred dogs, most were solid rabbit dogs. Not blazing fast but solid medium fast in foot speed. The ones that I had possessed good hunt, but I have seen a few that lacked hunt. Blue Banks Pleaser is the most recent sock it to me stud that comes to mind. Heard he could run the hair off of a rabbit. Saw a few out of him that were a little skittish over the years but don't know if it came from him or the bitch side. My buddy has a sock it to me bred bitch that is the real deal, he doesn't trial though so she hasn't gotten a lot of exposure. Money sunk Socket was a bitch directly off of Sock it to me if my memory serves me correctly and I have heard that she was the real deal, I believe she was the Dam of Money Sunk Mountain Man (Argentival Striker X Money Sunk Socket)which is the foundation of John Monkman's Awful Bawlin Kennels. Monkman could probably provide more insight on socket since I'm pretty sure he saw her run, and that is why he chose the man out of the litter. There was a picture of Money sunk socket on the Beagles Canada website
http://beaglescanada.org/bcmisc.html look under yesterdays hounds page 4, both were black and tan dogs
Monk you got any insight on this, as I am going off of memory and don't have the pedigrees in front of me

I've heard some older trialers in the northeast that claimed To Me was over sized but would squat at the measuring. Also heard said that he would throw a lot of big dogs that would sometimes go over.???????

My Pine Mt Chester dogs sire was Blue Banks Sweet Singer. Singer's sire and dam were half brother- half sister out of Sock it To Me. From what Rufus tells me Singer had an unbelievable nose, could run rabbits other dogs wouldn't even open on.

Mr. Big Dog Sir,
I had the pleasure of judging Tayors Sock it Too Me on several occasions both in Canada and the USA. He was a big 15" hound, heavy boned with lots of hunt and he always demonstrated a very good nose. He was hell on fire on a poor hot scenting day. The kind of dog that made judging easy. I don't know if he threw many great dogs , but he did produce some fairly decent ones in Canada.
Someone referred to John Monkman knowing FTCH Money Sunk Socket ....I doubt that as I believe she was finished ( 7 CKC wins ) running at CKC trials before John enterred the trial scene. However I agree that she was indeed a great influence on the begining of his Awful Bawlin dogs......as did other bitches, from Bryce Nuttal' Money Sunk Kennel , have like influences with other linages.

Thanks Dan, glad you could provide some insight, what can you tell us about Socket, I heard stories about her being a dominating hound. Would like to hear something from someone that saw it firsthand.

Socket was a picture perfect looking 15' black bancketed bitch with wheels to burn and desire to stay all day with lots of nosepower.. I would say she was the combination product of her sire and grand sire. Where the wheels came from I wouldn't know as one of her bitch line I owned ( for a very short time) which could stagger around all day in a one acre pen.
A story for you.....Bryce was trying to get enough wins, which was 7, on her to make her eligible for the Central Ontario Hare Assoc. Hall of Fame. At the last trail of the year on that circuit her feet were pretty bad so he used a New Skin product I gave him just before the trial and she won hands down........making her eligble for the COHA H of F...a honour she deserved.
