I basically feed mine in the brush piles but want to set up a couple of feeding stations in my starting pen.Any ideas would be great. Was thinking of using my bucket auto feeder but that will just throw feed around on the ground.

I made feeders out of 8" drain pipe.
The feeder stands upright.
I make mine 60" tall.
Put a funnel on the bottom, held with 2 drywall screws.
Might have to open up the spout bigger.
I use a 5 gallon pail for a lid.
I also put a pallet underneath with an opening cut in the middle for the feeder to set in.
Keeps the deer out!
I either bungee or wire the feeder to a tree or post to hold it up.
These work great with shell corn or pellets.
* also put some old x-mas trees or brush around the feeder so rabbits can hide when they go in to feed.

good luck,

LPB

i use 55 gal plastic barrels cut in half legnthwise with a hole at each end. also use cement blocks set in a square with the holes in the block facing out. then cover with plywood. this also makes a good safe place.

2nd cut Alfalfa Hay with oats in the feeders. Using oats will keep the squirrels and others out from feeding. 80 acres we go thru about 10 bails of Alfalfa and 500 pounds of Oats. Dogs dont seem to eat the oats like they do corn. Some years we feed more some less depending on the numbers we have. As you can see they feed from the top and the bottom of the Hay feeder. We have 4 stations like this.

This is what I use in the pen. Salt in the bottom & feed in the top.

I really like the style of feeding station posted by Gary A. and will build a couple of them in my pen. I do think that placing it in tall cover would make it more effective and provide more protection for the bunnys when they come to feed. Have no idea who thought of this style but thanks Gary for posting.

We use chicken water's and we made feeders out of wood and then covered them with shingles to protect them from the weather seems to work well.
