2 dead dogs in one month

Hi All,

I have lost two hounds in the past month both where 3 years old. The first showed one day of slow eating and did not make it through the night. The second was perfectly fine on Wednesday and by the time I got home to feed them Thursday he was dead. They were all fully vascinated and showed no signs of sickness in any way. They were kenneled seperately (above ground) with the only common factor being the food. I feed the Hunters Special yellow bag. I have called the Vet and for a fee I can have an autopsy done to help determine the cause of death. I am not blaming the food but for anyone who feeds it please be sure to keep an eye on your dogs. I am not feeding it to my dogs anymore.

Thanks

Kenyon

I am sorry for your lose. Sounds sort of strange to me. I don't know what an autopsy cost but I think I would have had one done to make sure other dogs can't catch something. I am curious do you have neighbors that are close to you?

Kenyon,
Sorry for your loss. Just a question for you, do you have any rat poison someplace nearby? I had a dog eat a mouse one time after it had been into the rat bait and it killed my dog. I almost lost a second one until I figured it out when I saw the beagle pawing at it in it's run, about to eat it. I never used rat bait around the kennel again. I just set traps and keep the food in a metal can with a top. Just thought I would share what I learned.
