call tritronics if your units only a little over 2 years the warranty probably just ran out tell them whats happening and your not that happy about it and most of the time they will replace your whole unit. A couple of buddys of mine had trouble right after the warranty had run out and they replaced there whole units, customer service at tritronics for the most part is topnotch

the reason I didn't send them back the fist time was because some of you guys suggested that the dog probably yelped cause he was afraid of the tone sound I thought maybe that was the case too.

Well now that it has happened again not only One dog but both dogs Yelped. NOW i know for sure they are getting shocked when using tone feature.

I'll call up TT customer service and keep you all posted.

their are several others that have had the same problem rabbitsmoker. I've read about it before. Now it happened to mine. I've never had a single problem in the past couple years with mine now something finally happened. I got the dial set on T everything is charged up good. I hit the red collar and the dog screams hurried up hit black and dog screamed. waited a minute or so tried again and no yelling from both dogs. its happens just like that. I don 't even now how hard they are getting shocked. as far as i know it could be on the highest setting.

just got off the phone with TT and she asked for the serial number off the unit. well i'm at work and don't have that info. so she set up a file under my name and all that so tonight when i get home i'll call them back and give them the serial number. she said if it is still under warranty that it will be free of charge for the repairs. If not then I'll have to pay.

On their website it says 2yr warranty. I think I may be over that 2yr I can not remember the exact date I purchased the unit.

**edit**

just went back on all my post found when i bought it. Feb 29,2008 :angryfire:

your only about 3 months out of your warranty i would try bowing my neck a little bit see if they couldn't give you the repairs and you pay shipping because your warranty has just expired it not like the collars are 3-4 yrs old they are just barely out of warranty i would try and see what happens all honesty they should repair them for free my opinion good luck

I had the same thing happen to mine when it was 6 months old. Called TT that day. They sent me a replacement unit while mine was being fixed. They were great to deal with. When it came back it was fine.

You should try it out on yourself...tone, tone, tone, then it will shock the living :censored: out of you. Mine did anyway. I've never had the nerve to try the highest sitting on myself but it was out of level 2 or 3's league.

TriTronics has excellent customer service.

I had a collar where one of the plastic straps that holds the collar in place broke. I tried super glueing it but it would just come loose again after a few hours.
I explained my problem over an email and also sent a picture. My collar was 6 months out of warranty.
The customer service rep said she couldn't give me a new collar, but gave me an address, repair number to put on the package, and told me to send it it.
2 weeks later it was sent back to me completely refurbished free of charge!
I hand wrote a nice letter of appreciation making certain to mention the customer service rep by name a few times and mailed it in. A week later she sent an email thanking me and said she got big points with management for that!
