I've been feeding it myself for a few months. The hounds and I are very satisfied with it.

A local country store use to carry it near where i live. The gentlemen that ran the store use to run beagles. Sold his dogs and quit carrying it. I was very satisfied for the 1 1/2 yrs that i could get it. Dogs did great and not a lot of mess to clean up.

I stopped using it when I found Potato chips, frito's, and saw dust in the bags. Apparently the work force was sweeping the floors and throwing the debris on the distribution belt. With that said, that was 15 plus years ago, and i haven't used it since. So perhaps they have "cleaned up" their act by now.

Joeyman, do a search for hi-standard and you'll get a good bit on both sides of it..........here and the other forums too. I used it for a little while but have been happier with the Pride. But there are still guys that swear by it. If it's in your area and the price is right it's worth a try.

We feed Pride (black bag) and have had great response from the feed. Dogs look great, tons of energy and their coats are shiney and slick. Once you start feeding Pride you can see a difference in the coat in a couple of day, the price is not bad either.

I use Hi-Standard because it is the best I can find in our area. Dogs do well on it. I would like to try Pride but there is no dealer in our area.

I use Pride 24/20 (black bag) also. Dogs look good with plenty of energy but if you don't run them they will pick up weight on this food or at least mine do. I get mine for $16.00 per 50 # bag.

joeyman, a few of us here in t county feed the high standard purple bag and like it very well. Not a lot of stool, the dogs really seem to like it and I have cut back quite a bit on what I am feeding or they get as fat as me! Very good food for the money and I have tried most of them.
