Dogs mouth foaming/slobbering in the box

Picked up a dog I purchased and on the ride home she slobbered and frothed at the mouth. What causes this? Does it have to do with nerves, as this dog seems a little nervous. Do they get over this, or is this a lifetime deal. Is it genetic? Anything I can do to help her get over this?

She rode in the back of my truck with topper on it, in a wire cage with plenty of room and ventilation. \

Thanks for any input,

Nerves(anxiety) some dogs just don't take to riding well. I have an older dog that slobbers like a faucet riding in the box, but when I ride her up front not a drop. She curls up on the floor board and goes to sleep.

I have had a lot of my young dogs do this until they get used to riding and at the same time I have seen a couple of dogs that will dog this every time they ride regardless of how old they are.

Same here... Hunter is 4 years old and still on occasion gets everybody in the box soaked on the way to the field.

I had a female out of Clemens frost buster that did that every time you hauled her. never seemed to affect her running though.
