I think you can find hounds from just about ANY line that will run in this stuff...but not EVERY hound from ANY line, if you know what I mean...
If you are looking to get hounds to run in snow there's plenty of guys here with good snowhounds...lots of different lines too. Most recommendations will come from those that have that particular line in their kennels. I run some Greenbay Shooter X Shoreacres Shakers Dinah stuff, along with some Larsen breeding and do pretty well...is it the best?? Thats subjective...

I think Greenbay Shooter produced some of the best all around gun dogs. They do very well in the summer as well as winter. My favorite shooter's offsprings would be Butkus. I purchased Jifka from Joe and she was a littermate to Butkus. Too bad she got killed by wolves. She was excellent on snow. If you are looking for snow hound, you won't go wrong with greenbays kennel. When my hunting buddy saw my greenbay's dog (max) ran a few weeks ago, he told me that is one of the best snow hound in his 40 years of beagling. I got a female out of butkus/rita, she is doing very good.

This is my Greenbay Shooter femlae pup at about 10 months old. She is 4 years old and they really are nice running hounds. I tried to breed her last spring but she did not take. She is due back in heat again anytime now and would like to get a few pups off her if all goes well...Deerhost.

Great video DH. And Gunner is a good snow hound. He and Flash have been doing a good job on the old crusty snow.

Hey Gary, I used to love to run Gunner on snow. How is he? He must be starting to get some grey in in muzzle. I tried to breed my female to a Mr. Bill male for that exact reason, because they are great on snow. Hope all is well and throw gunner a doggy cookie for me....DH.

Gunner is doing great. Very few grey hairs yet. Had his teeth cleaned early Dec. They had to pull one, thought the wife was going to cry. Last weekend the senting was so bad on the crusty snow Gunner's nose was bleeding and we could track him everywhere, but he would not quit.

Les/ Bunnybuster They need some big long legged Patch to run in that deep snow. Heard from Swampman the snow in Wi went from about 14 in or so to about 6 with all the rain. That was on the Mi/Wi line at the UP. Don`t have a clue what my little ol dogs could do in that stuff. Les I`m sure your hounds can handle it.
