Will housecats eat rabbits?

I took my 7 month old gay pup out this morning for a good long walk and to try and jump some bunnies out of some brush around my house. These little spots always old some rabbits but I didn't see nary a one today. I found out that the lady down the road has some cats that she lets run free. Will these durn cats eat adult rabbits?

Get you a nice lttle trap with a can of tuna and set it on back of your truck on the way to work drop off at the pound!!

Cats will destroy a rabbit population, When I see a cat in the field, I never see him again ..

ive had my dog jump cats in the briers and tree them they kill more then eat !!!!!!

I agree, My mother-in-law had started to feed stray cats and they started have young like mad, In 1 years time they went from 3 cats to 17 !
She has 1 male left ... , she would always have dead rabbits (adult and young) on her porch that were not ate at all , just laying there dead ...

House cats are one of rabbits worse enemies. They will clean a area out in no time. The bad think is that they kill them and rarely eat what they kill. House cats USED to be bad around my house but not anymore.

I agree with what all have said. House cats kill just to kill! They do the same regardless of whether it's rabbits, mice or birds.

Any cat that i see in the woods is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got land about 20 miles north of my house. This fall i was up there running my hounds, and was talking to the neighbor lady and she said why are you taking them dogs out my cat bought back 4 of them,and laid em on the door step. That cats lives are numbered!!

it is a little known fact that housecats are the number one predator in the united states, not foxes, or coyotes etc, CATS! I love cats, dead ones!

Out door cats suck, got a stray population around my house , It seems the coyotes have thined them down to one. People don't understand the damage cats do to small game and bird populations.
should be against the law to let cats run free. Dog owners can't do that!
