How old do pups need to be before treating with ivamectrin?

Maybe not advised, but I have a young male here that has been getting it since about 10 wks. He is growing like a weed and so far has been the healthiest pup I have ever raised. He lacks none in energy thats for sure!! good luck.

how often do you give it to them i just started and i give it to them once every other month at 6 or 8 weeks old and they seem to be doing fine. But i just got a grand son to reggie and he is not doing so well. I have had him about a week and i have been giving him fish oil with garlic to help his hair come back. When i got him he had two spot that his hair was thin. Some one told me that ivamctrin would help bring back the hair but it has been three days and he has not shown much change.
Anybody has a better idea on how to get his hair back i would like to hear about it.
i feed high standerd dog food all my hounds look to be showe quality. Not sure what to do with this little guy.

Hair regrowth takes up to 4 wks to completely come in. Get him wormed out well. Try and get him some super quality canned dog food and just give him that for a couple weeks. I have used Hill's Science Diet. It is a lot more digestable when they are battling against worms and the like. I use the ivermectin once a month on all my hounds. Good luck with your young dog. May want to get him bathed up good with a quality flea and tick shampoo as well. This may be a bit excessive for some, but I have brought back a couple hounds from bad situations to good health with good care for them.

Put a teaspoon of vegetable or olive oil on his food to help with his skin and coat. I had a border collie with dry flakey skin and after a few days of oil his coat looked shiny and healthy.

My pups are weaned at 28 days.
On the 28th day they get 2 drops of Ivermectin on the tongue.
I continue this every 2 wks. until 12 wks old, then i go monthly according to dogs weight.
1/10 cc per 10 lbs.

YES --you give to a breed female --when worming pups --you have to worm the female at the same time
