I know there has probably been a topic on this but my question is what is the best shock collar on the market today.

You will get several different replies on this. I don't think you can make a bad descision on this as long as you go with a proven brand. I think it is a matter of preference after that. I have a sportdog that I like alot. But my buddy has a tt that he likes . I think mine has a little more range but has a longer charge time. His has a quicker charge time but is a little bulkier. Some have tone some don't. Some expand to three dogs some six. Both are good units just depends on what you are looking for.You need to talk to somebody who has one and see what you want. I'm sure you will get several responses to this. But both are good units just a matter of opinion and preference.

I've had both Sportdog 2500 and Tritronics Trashbreaker. Both served me well. The Tritronic's transmitter and receivers were smaller. They say buy the most range you can afford. I would say save your money and don't buy a unit until you can afford one with maximum range, 1 1/2 to 2 miles.

Tritronics- I use the tone 20 times for every time I shock. I'm tired of hollerin'.

I've been very happy with my TriTronics Trashbreakers. I'm not sure they are the best but I am sure they've worked very well for me and if I need a new set tomorrow I will purchase the same. My last shocker was also a Trashbreaker, that one worked great as well the only reason I bought a new one was I wanted the EXP model when it came out so I could add a fourth collar for my new female. I sold my old 3 dog transmitter on the board and it worked great still.
Prior to Tritronics I had Dogtra and I wasn't impressed, the battery life was disappointing and I didn't like the little rubber plugs that went in the charging ports.

The new Sport Dog 3225 has a 2 mile range and you can carry the transmitter in you shirt pocket. Has both tone of vibrate on it you can choose and the collars are very light.
