ARE YOU SERIOUS, AKC ?
Sent in a dna test almost 2 months ago on my male. They cashed my check over a month ago, just got results today and instead of the nice certificate i got the last time i did the dna thing, i got a piece of white paper with the results on it and another paper saying i could order a certificate for 10 dollars more !!!!???? ARE YOU SERIOUS ? How demeaning and underlying is this, are they that cheap or is it just a money making thing now for the akc ?? Im seriously ticked off at them and am about sick of it all. I know some guys who quit reg. there dogs with them and now i know why.

I thought the same way when I got mine back. I didn't send them the extra $10.00 either.

How does this work ? do you register the profile once you send in the test, or you have to pay an extra 10.00 to actualy have it filed ?

Re: ARE YOU SERIOUS, AKC ?
The AKC is using DNA testing as a moneymaker.
I had an AKC kennel inspection last Saturday.
The inspector told me that he would be DNA testing some of the dogs a few weeks before coming out.
I have 1 male that is close to being a frequently used sire. I asked the inspector if he could DNA him, so that I would not have to pay the fee. He told me that the AKC would still make me pay for a DNA test on any dogs that he tested for the inspection.
If they already have the DNA information, why would they make me pay to do it again, unless they just want the money?
The inspection, which was my first, went well.
The inspector did not DNA test any of the dogs, which kind of surprised me.

Bail Out Program....$10 at a time
I can't wait to see the day when you will have to pay for a FC Certificate after spending umptine thousand dollars trialing a dog.

the AKC as well as all registries have always been about making money. they need the cash flow. the AKC is not to secure financially

Im not gonna order the certificate its just a fancy piece of paper with all the chromosomes in color, ill just keep the white piece of paper they sent me with the same thing on it. The main thing is his dna number which you have to have now to register pups and its on the white paper they sent.

Re: ARE YOU SERIOUS, AKC ?
I recently got into registered Original Mtn Curs. When you send the puppy papers off to get them in your name you also send in two pictures of the dog and when your perminant papers come back, a picture of the dog will also be on the papers. Why can't AKC do this. I think this would eliminate paper swapping, and putting papers on a grade dog. Also the pedigree is on the puppy papers and the perminant papers also. AKC is ripping everyone off.
Re: ARE YOU SERIOUS, AKC ?
and know for a fee you can change the name of your dog just like the other registitions. So how does that make a dog registered. just asking
Re: ARE YOU SERIOUS, AKC ?
How much does it cost to change a dogs name? What all do you need?
