Rabbit Hunting - Limit Hunts Sat/Sun

Had a nice time hunting this past weekend. A friend joined me for a hunt on saturday and I hunted by myself on sunday. We saw plenty of rabbits on both hunts.
Saturday my buddy and I counted 12 or 13 rabbits jumping across a 1/8 stretch of road that led us to the hunting grounds. Never seen so many like that before. We parked up a bit from where we seen all those rabbits and slowly worked our way towards that direction. Dogs put about 14 rabbits on the run. I was about to knock out my limt and my buddy ended up getting two rabbits and missed about another 4 or so. Some rabbits seemed like they disappeared after a short run or after they were shot at. We hardly covered any of the ground on this hunt.

Leah and little Suzy put on a heck of a sight chase on a wounded rabbit. little suzy hates a rabbit bad and she tends to tear them up some which I don't care for.
leah with a retrieve after a good sight chase.

rabbit ran down this path but didn't make it past me

I am starting to like my Green Bay Shooter Female Pup more and more. She is steadily improving and turning out to be a fine young female hound

Holding my Limit of 6 rabbits

Sunday morning rolled around and i had second thoughts on even going hunting but I forced myself to get up and slammed a redbull and out the door I went. Loaded all the hounds and got to truckin for a Solo hunt just me and the hounds. It was a HEADSHOT fest!

some of the cover

This is the best for hunting you can find. I love places that have downed trees with overgrown cover around.

Headshot Joeyman style. Rabbit hopping slowly and you put the bead just a half inch above his head and skim the top. Tried my best with video after the shot. Took me a good while to even see him running thru all that tall warm season grass

This was a thru the ear shot.

Got my limit and headed home. Can't beat that. Plenty More could of been had. I just covered a small thicket.
