Lake ogamah casey?

Post by Mandi Schafer »

would also like to know about this bloodline as well!! Who was this casey dog and what did he come from, how did he run what kind of nose did he have ect? If you had a direct female from him what would you breed her too?

Lake Ogemaw Casey was owned by Gene Byers of West Branch MI. Casey was a big dog and competed in Large Pack. Sort of a moody dog, but when he wanted to he could dominate a Large Pack of dogs.....Goes back to Paycheck breeding which is similar. He was bred quite a bit and produces some hard hitting dogs with good nose. Lots of B/T and red dogs.

I think he died 10 years ago or more so any direct females would be getting pretty old.

Going from memory here...

I think Casey was out of Bright's Spirited Buddy.
Buddy was out of Paycheck and Schnaaps' sister.

Casey's mother i think was Lk.Ogemaw Robin.
I think Robin was out of East Coast Trimmer.
East Coast Trimmer sired Branko's Jack of All Trades, etc.

I don't remember Casey being "red", but he was an ARHA LP champ and an AKC FC.
In the ARHA, I remember him as a tall full 15" tri-color with adequate nose and usually 1st or 2nd in the pack.
I was impressed that he didn't just fly and lose the track, he ran pretty controlled and efficient for his foot.
He has reproduced very well.

If you want more factual information on Casey, call Gene Byers and ask him about the ole boy. Gene will tell you exactly what he was like. first hand knowledge to. His number can be found on the Northern mi hare association website. One thing that is a fact is that Casey produced a lot of good dogs that were in turn good reproducers.

Here are just a couple off the top of my head:...................These just barely scratch the surface on what he has really thrown.

Thirty Ought Six Blitz is out of Casey. But he is about 12 years old I think. I have some dogs out of him that I really like.

Barry C: Just got a 13 month old pup out of FC North Lake Monica and Farrier's Wrangler. He is a big one. I was wondering where the size came from. Perhaps it is the Casey breeding. Course, there is Casey breeding on both sides, I guess.

Bucks:

There is definitely full 15" breeding on both sides of your pup. Wrangler & Monica are both what I would classify as 15" beagles.
