I have a buddy that is from Michigan and moved to North Dakota. He says the rabbits are thick as thieves there. It's mostly open country around him , with scattered 5- 10 acre thickets. He claims the thickets appear to hold 50+ rabbits per spot. Sounds a bit of a stretch , but from what he claims I'm sure there's plenty.

Same here in my area Bunnyblaster . Being limited to run public land anyways. Rabbits are scarce in most areas . A "good amount " now days, is 2 , at a drop location. Yet there are those with dogs in our area that still shoot what few rabbits we have. I understand it's public land , and it's open to all hunters. However , it's a bit disappointing when some of these guys know that we run these spots on a regular basis, yet we choose not to shoot. To us , it's no longer about putting them in the game bag.
Sometimes we make 2-3 drops before a race. Good thing is ,a good amount of the races we get are usually a good long 30 min. or more. Had one run for 11/2hr. yesterday with my older female (mostly northway) and a 7 month old pup, and I'm the reason it didn't run longer. They got too close to the road and I pulled them off it.

It sure isn't WV, at least not where I live in WV. I hunted in KY once and the farm that the guy was leasing we ran the dogs on was full of rabbits.

#1=MISSOURI- My father in-law lives there. They all rabbit hunt with no dogs. He sends me picks of the tailgated loaded every weekend! between my father inlaw pics and joeymans pics. Missouri has to be number 1
#2=MARYLAND- Eastern shore is loaded.
#3=NORTH DAKOTA- I go there to phesant hunting and let me tell you its loaded with cottaintails.

Those are the top 3 from my experience

NW Indiana is pretty much void of rabbits on public land. I'm retired and have two female littermates that I feel are "good". I have hunted 2-3 days a week and the last 4 times out jumped one rabbit! Hunted yesterday in 4" of melting snow, never saw track one !
Have hunted Iowa in the past and they were loaded with rabbits.

Im from nj, I hunnted nj,pa,ny,maine,va. I loved maine for the hare hunts, but if you can find some private land in southern nj or northwrst nj it would be like hitting the lottery. I hunted a tree farm in soutern nj for yrs, we would limit out almost every saturday, and never put a dent in the rabbit population. It was a honeyhole until the property was sold, now there are 200 homes on the spot
