Ok so I made me a 15 in. measuring stand that I am using. I have looked how to measure them and they say to go over their withers but in the diagrams that they use it goes in line with the back of the legs... So I took pictures to see if I am doing it wrong, am I to far back? The stand is standing on both sides, But if i went right over the withers which goes over their legs what seems to me is the start of their neck I get 15 1/4 in. What am I doing wrong?

Looks good to me but if a dog is that close to being over its gonna be a crap shoot. Depends on the judge, how the dogs standing. I've seen dogs make the cut 1 week and be over the next.

I know thats what worries me... I looked at this diagram, and I was amazed!!! I mean looking at most of the 15 in males of today I dont think alot of them would make it like this lol... I mean this dog is stacked up and all and if I am correct your not suppoase to stack the dog thed only has to be in a normal stance. So any of you UKC dog trialers... what do yall think about this?

Your absolutely right about that pic. Some judges will measure just a little higher on the neck and that can make all the difference on being to tall.

Instead of just kinda guessing where his withers are if you feel right below his neck above his legs you will feel his shoulder blades "withers" feels like 2 small marbles sorta speak!

John is right feel for the withers and measure from there. Also, you don't want to hold his head up high like in your last pic, that can give you a different measurement. The dog should be in a "natural" stance.

It looks like you are measuring to far down on his back. As said above, let him hold his head on his own. Feel for his "shoulder blades" and put the stand right on top of them. The more you hold his head up the taller he will measure. The dog also looks a bit heavy which will also add a little.
