Studs Dogs and Frozen Semen

Just curious what great Stud dogs were collected for future use before they died? I know of a few, can anyone name some that they know of??

+1 I would also like to know and does it require a special vet or clinic to store it?

I only have four tubes = 2 breedings on GRCH GRHBCH White River Beau Of Touchstone. For the most part it is expensive and not many want to breed their females artificially. Good for females far away! Have used a few tubes but Beau is still gettin it up so haven't really needed it much yet. Probably will be glad to have it in a couple years. He is 11 now. The storage is a lot more expensive than the initial collection in the long run.

Do you usually get a good size litter using frozen semen? I was told once that you didn't but to me 3--4 good healthy pups per litter is worth it to me.
