I have started pups sence I dont remember when!
I've ran dogs ,Trained all sorts !
Whether it was Deer Breakin ,there was never one besides a Reggie male -Domino- I couldnt Break!!
or Gettin one started ,Now Im not gunna say what this pup is out of ,but These were goin for big money & why the heck it absolutlty WILL NOT start.
it aint ever interested. Im startin 4 pups right now ,I work with them 1 & sometimes 2 at a time.
I have 2 females 4 1/2 months outta my Sonic dog & there gettin in the & pickin up checks! My dad has a Sonic fm. That the first time I took her out she was runnin threw the weeds & jumped a rabbit & ever since then has been jumpin & runnin her own rabbits. Also dad has a blue fm. outta a pure branko male x Sonics sister that I ran her 3 times & she went to runnin this mornin!! Now The pup is also a year old, Blue tk ,14 3/4" male ,barks all the time in the kennel at rabbits & when I turn em loose he wants to run threw the yard & play. Hes bee out 32 times now, also has been inna rabbit lot for 3 weeks straight. He wont look at a rabbit ,not a bit shy ,
is he never gunna start ? is he stupid ? crazy ? he wants to fight the dogs inna break down ,like when they cross the road he'll run out there & start a fight!
Im juss to the point where I DONT KNOW what to do ??? any help?

The one that starts the fights needs a high velocity of lead lesson!!

I agree ,But dad loves that pups b/c of his pedigree!
But i really hope that pups makes a good one ,or maybe even a IFC or WORLD CH. Like his parents !!

I've seen pups that didn't start until over a year old that turned out to be awesome dogs. I'd keep at it.....keep that pup hunting alone though so it doesn't get the opportunity to play tail grab with another dog all day.

A YEAR IS MY LIMIT TO SHOW ME SOME KIND OF PROMISE.. if it shows nothing at this point it goes as a pet to someone ..

Had a female out of a line of early starters didn't start until she was 2. I don't have that much patience anymore. You can't make them run, just give it time. Another male I know of the breeder sold cheap because he wouldn't start, almost 2 yrs., to a meat hunter, wouldn't sell that dog for a million bucks. You just need patience. Good luck.

Find a road kill rabbit or if one happens to be caught by your hounds. Drag the dead rabbit in front of your pup, get him to chase it, grab it and play with it......alone. Freeze the carcass and do this repeatedly until he believes it is a fine game. Then start dragging it around and hide it (under a bucket) when he finds it let him chase it some more. Let him grab it and chew on it, drag him around by it. After he can track it and find it pretty well, throw him back in your pen and see what happens when the first live rabbit jumps up in front of him

My Sonic dog catchs rabbits all the time. He caught 2 this lass week ,straight out of a check & 1 lass week off the jump.
I had that pup all these times & let him play with rabbit & let my other pups too ,id let him know he was doin good ,but he still wouldnt run ,also lass night My Millii female caught one & it was tryin to get away from her & he herd it hollerin & ran over there & the tore it up! He STILL WOULD NOT RUN!!!!

i've figured it out!
I talked to the guy that owned this pups Mother, after she made IFC & he said the reason he sold her was she had ZERO HUNT!!!!!
His dad doesnt produce crap! unless he is bred to a female that has already proven she is a great producer!! I talked to some people & we figured that out
also this pup wont start simply because he has no **hunt!
Now his sire has crazy hunt & is IFC & WORLD CH. -
WOW! So much for a PROVE CROSS HUHH?!
