I have one hear that I am blessed to have and she will turn a pack in a heartbeat and she is hard to get a long tough check on. FC Green Bay Million Dollar Baby, aka Maggie. She is a fine product of Mr. Joe Kuklenski and is one of the nicest females I have ever seen or will ever own. She is a joy to take out!!

FC Durhams Lily....could kill a pack with her check work...and still can!!

FC Jump-n-Run Zena also comes to mind as a check scoring machine.

BJ's Fudd was a great check dog when I owned him. He wouldn't leave until he figured it out no matter how long it took.

My old Rambo dog.
I remember back in 1999 at Central Michigan BC.
ARHA PP
5 dog winners pack, Rambo got nearly all of the checks.
He had over 400pts the others had less than 40.
It looked like ducklings following their mother!

Johnny's Rabbit Zeeker was another quick and efficient check hound.

FC Pound The Ground Chance won the day I judged him because of his ability to work out tough checks that the other dogs couldn't & even gave up on. Several times, Tony Eyer & I would be chasing the pack & suddenly see the rabbit come back right by us. So we would just stop & wait to see which hound would or could find the double. Several dogs even checked back before Chance did , but walk right by & wouldn't claim it, but everytime Chance crossed the line he grabbed it opened immediatley & had it back in a drive within seconds. He did this at least 4 times in the winners pack that we saw. One time the rabbit squatted; the 4 dogs we had left on the ground all worked extremely close to the rabbit, but it wouldn't move. They all slowly progressed outward looking for the check. Chance came back again by himself to the point of loss & worked around & around really tight; all of a sudden the rabbit popped up & took off, but he didn't see it. He worked down & hit the line & the race was on again. We looked at each other & said" Winner? "We both agreed. Then we watched a few more minutes to place 2nd through 4th. The competition was tough that day too; I think all of the placing dogs that day became FC's. Don Smith put a win on him at the Mid-West Championship a few months later & described the same type of dog we had judged .The 2nd place hound was FC Saussers Jack & Jack has quite a reputation himself. Don was very impressed & believe me he has been around several extremely talented dogs; not just Lily.

Stinetime Ivy but she was entered in less than 8 trials in her life probably. Was an absolute check hound supreme that jumped a ton of rabbits.

One of the best (if not the best) OVERALL rabbit dogs I've ever seen ,was a 15" male named Maynard's T-Rex. He was out of Larsen's Jackson and Larsen's Sadie. He was a solid lined controlled , check making machine. He would turn one out in the middle of a pack and roll with it. Not a super
"footy" or "flashy" dog , but a solid "rabbit dog".
