Anyone who has ever went to a field trial has watched brankos run. Do you have a certain question you need a answer to.

yep, already asked it, never got an answer. just waiting to see if anyone else has ever saw one run, and then I will ask it again! Mr. Hoover, I believe there are a lot of SPO field trials being run where I doubt Branko hounds are entered, and some, where they are a very , very small segement of the entries.

Mr. Hoover, apparently in your area Branko hounds are common as you said if one goes to a trial he would see some run. But with over 150 views and only 4 replies it doesn't appear that most on this board would care to see one run, I was kind of interested in them but it doesn't seem like most people are. So, to the four of you who replied thank you. Could each of you look at the video that I believe was posted by oef10 and tell me if this running style is what is normally seen in this line , thank you. I am sure a lot of johnny come latelys will horn in now but I am more interested in what you four guys think.

Gwyoung, I have seen a few run but wouldn't think I have seen enough to give an opinion on how they all run. I will say I am not a big fan of some of the newer Branko stuff I have seen. But then I have also seen some of the old Branko blood that was pretty nice, some of the Jack of all trades stuff is just upper medium speed to medium fast with lots of nose and control. I think the question your asking can not really be answered, because Branko stuff is so varied in style, you get some that are stupid fast with no control, some is like I said upper medium speed with control, some can be fast yet clean and so on. They have been bred up for speed or down for cottontail and you can get two Branko dogs that run nothing a like. I have seen IFC Dirty Pond Liaka run, at the time she was 10 years old, she came directy from Brankos Kennel as a pup. When I saw her run she had good speed but nothing crazy and good control with big nose, I ran an old male with her I used to own that was rough and she would turn corners on him everytime he got rough. She was one of the nicest dogs I've ever seen run along with her son IFC Dirty Pond Blacky. I ran with a friend last fall who had a female that was heavy in some of the newer Branko blood and the dog was a complete ediot, and ran nothing like some of the others I've seen...I tried to view the video on the thread you speak of but it is not working.......DH

Seen alot of them run. Got 2 that are all Branko and one that is a grandpup to Ali-Baba on top and Shaker on bottom. Like them all very well. Don't know what your question is but would be glad to help if possible. I will say that they are like any other bloodline in that you can get a different running style within the same line. Seen the same thing within the Northway, Patch, Sock It To Me, Paycheck, and others as well. Dogs are like people, just because they have the same parents or last name doesn't mean that they will have the same work ethic, attitude, or anything else.

i have run with the dog in question and from the video i dont even know if this is his style. he is a pup and looks to be gaining a lot of confidence. now to awnser your question , some run like this and some dont. i find it hard to believe if you go to a lp trial at least 25% of dogs are not bred this close or closer to jack of all trades.

likeemfast, Would love to hear your opinion.
Deerhost, Thanks, for the input.
Lebro, I understand all dogs are individuals, but ever strain has overall characteristics that are shared by the majority. As far as finding it hard to believe that
at least 25% of the dogs at a LP trial are Branko I wouldn't know about that. Also, what I saw in the video on the pup is what I have seen on just about every Branko Bred hound that I have watched run. Some over run quite a bit more and all have done their check work by swinging back in a circle trying to find the line just like the pup is doing. I am not bad mouthing it, if you like it then it is good. To everyone else, the question is, after viewing the video on here by oef10 of his pup running is it your experience that this style is typical of the Branko line. He also is new to the Branko line and is not familiar enough with them to help me out.

Now that you have said it that way my answer is yes that is typical of the ones that I have seen with the exception of the two mentioned that were IFC's. I have Speedy Sport stuff and I like what I have but what I have is Sport on top and Line bred Little harvey on the bottom which is SPO type blood and it is the best of both worlds nose, speed and control. Also as far as trials go, if you look at better beagings monthly issue with trials results you will see that some trials depending on the region have almost no Branko bred hound trialing such as PA the surrounding areas. Where you will see alot of Branko blood being trialed is in the midwest, up north and parts canada........DH
PS...Gwyoung I think some like them that way, I mean swinging!!! and thats ok, deferent strokes for some folks.
