We have always worn the Northerner, uninsulated rubber boots. I've worn the pullon three lace upper for many years and my cousin has tried the zip up type for the past couple years. These seem to be holding up to the type terrain we hunt/run in. These seem to suck down on your feet after walking and I have to use a boot jack to get them off of it wears me out fighting them off. LOL These will get holes punctured in them if you get into the heavy very rough stuff BUT I have patched them with a regular tire inner tube patch and continued to wear them for years. These normally sell for just under $100.00 where we buy them but I have seen them online from $75.00 on up. These seem to be a pretty good rubber boot for the money for us.

Fans of Muck Boots or other rubber style boots might want to spend more and consider the Le Chameau boots from France. They are the best you can get. I wear them all year and would never go back to anything else.

Early season and dry days I like my Danner Pronghorns, cold wet days I like my Muck Premium field boot and when the snow is deep and temps are real low I won't leave home without my Irish Setter Pack boots.

I had two pairs of Alpha Burlys. Bought them both at the same time, one insulated pair 1200 grams, and one uninsulated, still 400 grams. I have had them 5 years, I am replacing both pairs this year. Total cost about $250. I wore the crap out of them both. And havnt found a better more comfortable rubber boot. When I shotgun hunt deer or do alot of walking I wear the uninsulate ones, bow hunting I wear the insulated pair later in the year.

Muck boots... nothing else!! I went though a bunch of boots trying to find "the ones". Expensive ones, cheap ones, and everything in-between. Nothing will make you more uncomfortable hunting than having problems with your feet. I don't sit in a chair or on the tail gate. I run dogs not just listen to them. The Muck boots are the best. I still wear out a pair a year, along with my filson gear, but that's just part of it. Briars are unkind to any and everything.

LR, get you some Muck's and your feet will thank you for it.

Not to change the topic buckeye but how do you like the mule Pants. I have had filson, carhart, Cabelas Brier Gaurd, and several others but I am thinking about trying the MULES. Brock

This topic brings up something I have pondered for years. Why has the frog legs ( typically muck boots attached to Dan's or Valley Creek chaps) not taken a hold in the beagling community ? Although I don't have a pair now, I will when I start trialing.
