Frank Reese, and his gay hounds. Mr. Reese passed in the mid 90's. But proir to, and up to his death was one the top houndsmen.

I don't know vertically many beaglers, but Adam Seger took me to watch Shooter, Wookie. and a few others. He took me on many of his trips to the coal mines. I appreciate him for that.

I also need to mention Matt Glomski and his band of misfits. The hair or hole crew are pretty good guys.

I was not aware that Jacob had passed away. I really hate to hear that. He came to several state hunts down here in Louisiana back in the late '90's and early 2000's. He was a fun guy with a wealth of knowledge about hounds.

I'll go back a few years prior to the 90's.

I see that responses really are some what based on what people have out in their yard. Also i think location will very peoples choices , example if you run midwest you lean towards Don Hoog .
I run ckc Large pack mostly in Ontario so the people that are the most influential in my eyes to my circuit are :
Branko Krpan
Terry McBride
Jack Blum
John Monkman
The Steeves
Robert Sheriden
Armando's Beagles Paul and Armando
from their sucess and from what they have given back to beagling .

Just a couple beaglers that i think personally have been influential are the Steeves, Branko Krpan, Dick Doyle, Dean Biscamp, and Aubry Holcombe

I agree with what your saying only to add, "longevity" is the mark of true influence. Many have made or are making their mark, but many fade quickly or are only a flash for a period, Time has it's way of sifting through those with lasting effect and their contributors.
It's been interesting the last number of years to watch and hear about the "revival" of old hounds and lines/families written about from the past, but lots of work to resurrect the "almost dead".
A life time of work is only remembered by those you touch".
Long live our little hunting hounds and all those who've labored and worked to kept them true to their heritage...
