How far north for hare?

Im in fremont mi, how far north do i have to go to find hare? I have never run hare and want to really bad this year. Just wondering how broke im gonna be after i pay for gas in my truck

Im from the western end of the U.P. but have talked with guys from the Houghton Lake area and there are some Hare in that area. Id say if you drive 2-2.5 hours north you should be in Hare country.

First i'd go to wally world and purchase a "gazeteer map book".
It will show State Land, swamps, etc.
Low, thick swampy areas are a good bet.
I've run hare an hour north of Fremont.
Near Big Star Lake.
Don't expect tons of action.
but 1 or 2 hare will run all day!

Jamey, I think its gonna be a little farther than I used to drive to come run with you. Either way with my truck getting 10mpg its gonna be rough on the wallet

thanks buschbound and LPB for the advice. Might be able to find some closer than I thought!

For the past couple of years I have went to the UP but in the past have found hare near Atlanta.
