E-collar is a must.. It lets you control your dogs in a hurry!

Gps are nice but IMO the e-collar is more important.

The sport dog 3225 is an excellent collar with excellent service.
The Garmin is the best tracker IMO but a tad big.

The alpha will do them both if you want and has gotten both.

I run shockers on all my dogs and a Garmin on the one most likely to do something stupid.

Why would you use a shocker on a pig? And why would they become illegal? I have seen a rise in people using them and those underground fence deals and even bark limiters.

Well when you have 1400 hogs in a house and they avg 300 lb and its time for them to go to the market. You re going to have some that want go in the truck.Shocker comes in real good about that. But You do not used one cause of peta.they think its crual to the hog.But hes going to be dead in 2 hr.

Buy the Alpha system and enjoy both, you won't have buyers remorse.

Great tool!!!

If you plan on trialling I understand you can't use the Alpha to track your dog at a trial. Just a thought.
Thanks

The Tek 1 was having issues with antenna's breaking and I think you have to have them replaced by Sport Dog. Garmin's break too but it's a do it yourself repair. The info Garmin gives is far better if it's of value to you. You say your already using a training collar, how bad you want a new one? I like the Garmin 320/DC40 with a Sport Dog 3225 when I feel I need it. I usually only run a dog with a tracking collar so not being stuck with a all in one is important to me. It's important if you trial too. Lot of pro's and con's at least your doing some homework hope it pay's off for you.
