Dog gone with lead on it

Post by Squareebeagles »

Well it's been over a week now that Shilo one of my lp rabbit champion has been gone. My son was cleaning kennels put two dogs on a double lead and the got lose with the lead the same night one got off and came home. We have looked every where for her and can't find her it makes me sick a my stomach to know that she is hung up and starving its bad for any dog to do that but I thought a lot of her and she will be hard to replace !!!!!!

I think I would turn that other one lose and see if she is smart enough to go back to where they were. It's worth a shot, hate to hear that I had one went missing for 8 days came back leg was cut all up. Still running her today but she has a limp.

I think turning a few out might be a good idea.

I was cleaning stalls at the barn and had one of my dogs tied out with me and way off in the distance I could hear someone hunting their beagles, once they sounded off my little dog went nuts. Eventually I stuck her in the box on my truck where she continued to howl for a while.

Maybe if you listen close you'll hear her trying/wanting to get with the pack.

Id organize a search party and start panning the area. She's probably closer than you think especially if its pretty thick. Look at google earth for thick patchs in your area you may not know about. I wouldn't think 2 dogs tied together could make it to far. She could be hung up in briars, under a brush pile or anything.

Here's my theory. Your dog was stolen when someone found two dogs on a leash. They unsnapped one dog and let it go. Hard to believe no one would hear a hung-up dog crying for help, unless you are really in the sticks. Or maybe your in the mountains then I guess it would be more likely no one can hear the dog.

Not all dogs will bark when they hear other dogs or are hung up and after a week Id say shes getting a little dried out. Shes not stolen either or they would have took both dogs. Ask your son which direction they went when they got loose and start looking. Id make him look almost 24/7 until I found her.
