What is the best way to get the hind dewclaws off? I bought an 8 month old male that had them and I want to get rid of them! Thanks for any help??

At that age, I think a vet is your best option.

Where do you get the bands? I have a young hound that needs fronts takin off. Do you band them rite up next to the leg,and can you run them with bands on?

I was also wondering where to get the bands? I found some cow bands but the ones I found are to large!

You can take a regular broken rubber band and tie it tight.
Or find a kid with braces!
Both work.

Most feed stores carry them, Tractor Supply/Southern States.
I have purchased them there before, as well as the banding tool.
I had a pup once that had 1 rear dew claw, I tied it off with a regular small rubber band.
The dew claw fell off in no time at all.

the bands and tool most guys are talking about are for lambs and are sold at most feed mills, youll get a tool and like 100 bands maybe around 25-30 dollars

The rear dew claws that are just held by skin can be cut off with a pair of large scissors.
