Couple projects for spring, Punkin and Driver, updated Pic.

These two were from a litter of 5, one died this winter, leaving 4. Punkin is our pick of the litter, on the right, there were three females and two males.

Driver will be going to a good hunting buddy of mine.

Excited to see how they work out. Off of Green Bay Sassy Magoo(Butkus' littermate sister)X Buffalo Creek Stone Cold Turbo(2, 4th's and two more winners packs in 6 trials in 13 inch males this year, decent young dog). He is out of Butkus and a Rowdy's Cotton Top.

Time will tell, sure enjoy raising young ones out of the hounds I use under the gun. Brings me alot of good times, and some frustrating ones too...

If they run as good as they look. You shouldn't have any problems with them.

Keep us updated on how they progress and best of luck.

Thank you. They are out of pretty decent dogs, linebred to carry some dominant genetics, we will see if they come out.

BC;

Frustration? I feel your pain. The hardest part for me with my new pup is getting her to sniff where I'm trying to get her nose, i.e. on the trail the rabbit just took. I know it will come, but ....

He is a nice one. I have docked a few tails in the past.

These hounds, for the line they come from, don't particularly have long tails when they are adults.
They have a bit shorter and heavier tail, for the most part.

I have seen some with long whip like tails...LOL. they have to be shortened. :D

Frustrations are a part of it, but the natural instincts tend to take over pretty early on. They all don't make it to high level performers, that is just part of the trial and error.
I enjoy the chances of "what if", when breeding. Knowing I have bred a couple pretty good hounds, from a family of good hounds. What if this time all the good traits fall into place..?? I will keep trying.

Good running to all and thanks for looking!

Nice looking pups. I enjoy working young dogs. Yes it is frustrating at times. It is still fun though. Good luck with them. Bring them to w ky sometime and well run them.

Well....Punkin and Driver are making too outstanding hounds...long way to go, but they both run a rabbit with authority and act well beyond there age of 9 months. Complete package types. Punkin will see some derby trials in the spring and I hope to have Driver there as well.

This cross produced four pups and the reports say to make this cross again, all four excelling early on, natural abilities....hunt, line control, and intensity thru the roof....Turbo threw outstanding mouths on them as well. Excited for rabbit season and for Maine!!

Punkin ran one to a junk pile solo the other night after 20 minutes of hard running....a very good rabbit, but there were only a couple short checks, 30 seconds or less, she has some foot as well...decent young dogs.

They are picking up checks on the old dogs..doing okay.
