A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
I HAVE A JUDGE THAT I HAVE HUNTED RABBITS WITH AND I LOVE IT (MAN IS IT LOUD) BUT I HAVE NOT HIT ANY THING WITH IT YET. BUT I AM A TERRIBLE SHOT EVEN WITH A SHOT GUN SO I DON'T THINK IT IS THE GUN JUST ME
IF YOU DO HUNT WITH A JUDGE WHAT KIND OFF HUSTER DO YOU USE I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO GET SHOULDER OR WAIST.
HUNT WITH A PERSON THAT USES ONE. HE PUT A THOMPSON CENTER CHOKE IN THE END OF IT AND WILL PATTERN OUT TO 35 YARDS. USES A SHOULDER HOLSTER TO KEEP SNOW OUT OF IT. ALL OF US HUNT WITH PISTOLS I BOUGHT A CHESTY PULLER SO I CAN CARRY MINE IN FRONT OF THE CHEST TO KEEP SNOW OUT AND EASY TO GET ACCESS BY JUST UNZIPPING COAT A LITTLE BIT. IF YOUR IN TO KILLING RABBITS THE JUDGE WILL WORK FINE, IF YOU WANT TO SCARE ALOT OF RABBITS USE .22 PISTOLS, EVERY ONCE AND AWHILE WE "SCARE" ONE TO DEATH
I hunt with a boy that has one and he quit useing it due to not being able to hit anything, he went back to shooting the 22. I don't think it's just you, everyone I have talk with about them can't hit anything.
I prefer a shoulder holster as well under my outer coat.
Not to be the internet police, but make sure you have any required permits in your state to carry concealed. And watch going out of state, as to their laws.
For instance, here in pa I can carry open or concealed with proper permit. If I carry concealed 30 miles away in NY, I could be charged with a felony.
Good luck with your handgun. I love how it let's me keep my hands free while hunting. It also saves me lots of time cleaning rabbits.
