yeah I didn't plan on running them with my males.

but I do love running my little females.they are a joy to hunt over and I dont want to have to leave them put up for the rest of the season.

never say much difference in hunt and have run some while in heat. Thing that most brothers me is for a $hit-eater mutt / stray side in and hang my bitch.

They don't get out of the kennel for 3 weeks once they spot.
As Randy stated, don't need her getting locked up with some stray while out running.

I keep mine up for a month. Ive seen them get bred and have pups at 21 days! It don't take but about 30 Seconds for a mutt to hang up on one.

I've seen females in heat act completely stupid like they have lost their mind and then others act fine.

hcaplinger that is all I run is female like a few person said I don't like to because maybe a mutt locks her up. Or sometime where I run there're other hunters running their hounds and can lock your bitch up also. Heard of this happen before with someone I Know. jmo

I have ran dogs in AKC trials on days 10-13 of their heat cycle. Yes you have to keep track of them. But why leave a dog sit in a kennel for 21 days or a month? Happy running.

I have also seen this!!!
When they are in heat I will solo them if they are not nutty when in heat and I ain't worried a out a stray getting them cause I stay with them and no dog gonna have time to get her.
