Eye problem with beagle

Post by bigcfromrbc »

While running dogs I noticed I had a problem with one of my pups. The eye looked odd. Got a closer look and it was bloodshot, and had an indention in the eye. It was cloudy too. I started putting Visine in the pups eye today. Doesn't seem to effect her. She still went with the dogs fine and stuff. I'm sure the vision in that eye isn't clear. How many days of should I wait to take her to the vent if it doesn't clear up? Is there any other treatment I can do without having to take her? She's worth the bill, but money is tight as always.

Back in the summer my little male ran a stick in his eye while running. I thought he had put it out. It had as you described a slightly bloody looking scratch or sunken place. After a couple days it went cloudy. I had some medicated eye drops and started treating the eye everyday. After a month or so it completely healed up. Its perfectly fine now, no problems at all.

Thanks buddy. I'll keep trying the Visine then.

Here is some other treatment options, but when it comes to eyes it's best to see a vet asap.
