Rabbit population

Post by 2barrel »

Just wanted to get input from fellow beaglers from everywhere on rabbit population. I have seen more small rabbits here in Southern WV this year than in the past 5yrs. Looks like we will have plenty of bunnies to chase/hunt come fall. How's your rabbit population looking for 2014?

Seeing more rabbits down here in Louisiana than I have in the last 5 or 6 years. Looks like we are gonna have a good year.

We are in the last of the second year of a 7 year increase. Will start diminishing in 2019-2020. Look at how trees have bloomed early and other signs.

I'm in Wayne County and I seem to see a ton during the summer and they had once season comes in. Granted I don't know many spots to go so I mostly gun hunt in Ky.

Here in east Tn. we seem to have a bunch this year.Every morning early I can count 7-8 on my lawn and up and down the lane up to our house.Same thing around dusk. Both grown rabbits ,half grown and little ones.
Other places I run seem to be the same.

It is looking great here in Central Mo but it always looks good and then come OCT 1, all the rabbits are gone.

I counted 18 at my dads and he only has ten acres.
