It would depend on the range and cover you anticipate shooting most often. I like improved cylinder for close, thick stuff and modified when the distances increase.

Full, clean head shots when they are close and I've knocked me over at 45 yards
Re: most perfered choke for 20 gauge
Modified and use No. 5 & 6 or 7 1/2 for different kind of cover that the rabbit run in.
Re: most perfered choke for 20 gauge
Modified 5 or 6 shot. I don't like 7 1/2's for rabbit.

Re: most perfered choke for 20 gauge
Have always used improved cylinder in a 20 or 16 gauge with number 6 shot when rabbit hunting in Indiana. Now I use a Comanche 410 pistol and don't really care if I kill one or not but seem to do alright with the 410, just have to get myself in the proper position as I do NOT like to waste ammo and empty a full chamber of rounds on anything. That is why we also deer hunt with OLD percussion side hammer black powder rifles. Never hunted a deer with anything else other than a bow.

I hunt with an over/under 20 Ga.with interchangeable choke tubes.I keep Improved cylinder in one barrel and cylinder bore [basicaly no choke ] in the other barrel. Most of the rabbits I shoot at are in the 20-25 yard range and I can kill them with those combinations.
Cottontails I shoot low brass #6's and up north on hare I shoot high brass #6's.

L. C. Smith S/S #4 shot imp./ mod. early and later in the season mod./full according to the cover. Most of the time I like to use my Colt Targetsman pistol or Winchester 63 .22lr, but if I want a mess O bunny i take the 20ga.

Re: most perfered choke for 20 gauge
I've always used mod until a couple years ago. Been using full. Although I have a poly choke and can twist it to what I want. In a wooly thicket where long shots aren't possible I turn it to modified.
