Dog Voices

I have a year-old dog that has an ear-splitting chop in the kennel getting ready to go. Once on track, she has a high-pitched squeak. Hope she finds her "kennel" voice soon while running. Kind of embarrassing.

I got a hoss/percy female that squeaked a lot at first but has steadily turned it over to more of a beautiful chop at 17 months. She still yeps a bit until she really gets wound up and rolling on the track. my list of "i can't stands" puts this at the second from the bottom right above color (I own an ugly one too :-) ). If they are doing everything else right they are staying.

The best dog I ever owned had the worst voice of any dog I ever owned. It didn't take long for it to become the sweetest I ever heard! How I wish I could have her again!

Hi Larry, now that I can post again I'd like to say that like the others I had a young one with a lousy voice only to have it change totally by 3.

numerous times seen the mouth get big with age and experience, once had a buddy that had a puppy well started big mouth in the kennel pathetic on the track squeaky. i had a one acre puppy pen with san juans. i invited him to put him in for a short session. In a few minutes the big mouth was coming out. We tossed him in the 25 acre pen with cottontails presto from then on big mouth.

I have 1 that is about 18 months and she has the most annoying little squeaky yip most of the time. Lately her voice has started to change every once in a while when she gets going so i hope its going to keep getting better.

Dogs are like women, different voice when singing than the one giving you hell.
