Just wondering what is the youngest u all have seen males breed . I have a 6 month old male pup an my female is in heat reason I'm wondering . I don't want her bread .

then you better not have them together . i be leave they can at 6 months.
i think AKC says 9 months for them to accept it. but that could of changed.
a lot of people say 1 year.

Their not together ... I just didn't want to b out hunting an them knott up ..

Had a friend that had a four month old pup hook up to one of his females out hunting he carried them out of the woods still hooked up we all laughed real hard that day . The Good news was she did not take so no puppies. Is wife was not real happy when he told her they might have a litter of pups in January in the house. Lucky for him he dodged that bullet.

As soon as their nuts fall.

If you can see his nut bag he can breed.

The testes produce the sperm, but even they take time to mature. The act may not produce the result but your getting close on time. Better safe than sorry I say.

A few years back a buddy of mine had a party and he had a cocker spaniel that was in heat, a mutual friend brought a five month old male beagle pup to the party. As you guessed, there was a litter a couple months later. Funny part was he advertised them as speagles and got $300 a piece for them. Go figure! Lol!

Speagles how was their hunt ? Lol
