KANSAS hunting...what does it take?

Post by Joeyman »

So I have a pretty big opportunity to guide my dogs in Kansas on a hunt that will been auctioned off very soon. The people wanting me to come offered to pay for my license and what not. I just need to show up and do what I do best. I'm going to bring a hunting buddy we will need his tags. trying to see what a non resident tag cost and also I saw on the Kansas site something about $22 a dog? the site is confusing. Also what is the daily limit on rabbits in Kansas?

any info will help... thank you

I think the limit is 10, witch a 30 possession limit but they have a no closed season. I doubt you would need a permit for your dogs but it would be cheap insurance to call and verify. I would think that would apply to a commercial guide service.

I have been twice and never purchased a tag for my dogs, maybe I was supposed to but I don't remember reading that anywhere. The Nonresident hunting license in 2014 was 72.50. Its always a good time, depending on where you go probably going to be different terrain and style of hunting than you are used to. Good luck.

one thing i remember about kansas is they ask for a hunter's safety course certificate for everyone back to 1955 i'm thinking. i don't remember that they charged for dog's if you can get a message to harold pillar he could tell you or zack moore.

72.50 for out nr license in 2014
No permit for the dogs
Only have to have hunters saftey card if your state requires it
When i bought my license they never even ask for a hunters saftey card
Limit 10 a day per person
Possession limit of 30
Use a small gauge gun with low brass shells because cover is so thick in kansas that alot of your shots are close range
Dont waste your time on bird permits if u plan on knocking down any birds bird numbers are a all time low.
We had a great time at out spot " somewhere in kansas"
Going back this fall

72.50 for all season
They told us that there wasnt a five day pass
They have a temp licence for fishing but not hunting
And again thats just what we were told by a young fella in the walmart sporting goods where we bought out license
So u may look into the temp hunting license a lil more to make sure
