Give her a couple more days before you take her to the vet. they can go all the way up the the 67th day, unless she is stressed or acting abnormal she should be fine a few more days.

Agree with TN Hoss . I had a bitch go 70 days from 1st tie , thinking she didn't take till 3rd tie which was 6 days from 1st tie.

I just had a female have pups on the 70th day.

Give her time she'll have them.

I remember Billy Bredemeier used to say, "A male dog ought not to be born till he's 3 years old"...lol... so anything less is early.

My female is on her 63rd day today from first tie, 62nd from 2nd tie, only locked them up those two days. Yesterday her temp went down to 99.4 so I brought her in my basement to a whelping pen. Basement is around 70 degrees, but have a heat lamp and keep it around 86 under the lamp. This morning her temp was back up to 100.3 so I put her outside again. This evening her temp was 98.7 so back into the basement. It's all a waiting game now, but haven't had that temperature fluctuation in the past. From my experience, once it went below 100 it didn't come back up and the pups came soon after. Maybe got a junk thermometer, not sure. I have heard the temp can fluctuate, I just haven't had much fluctuation with my last few litters. When she starts really tearing papers up and panting I'll figure she is real close. Not going to worry unless it gets close to 70 days, just wish it would happen soon so I don't have to keep checking her. Up 3 times in the middle of the night last night looking in on her, wish I wasn't like an expecting father, but that's just my nature with my dogs. I only have an occasional litter, so I am not an expert. Only had one litter that had big problems in the past after they were born and I attribute that to a hot day in a garage while I was at work. At least that is what I am blaming it on, not really sure, but won't make that mistake ever again. Hopefully all works out as it should. Good luck with your pups when she has them. Keep us informed how things turn out.

Have done some research on gestation period for dogs just to ease my mind also. If the female was bred a little earlier than the eggs were ready it can throw the counting days from tie method off a few days. The male's sperm can live in the female for several days and then fertilize the eggs when they are in place. I know it's concerning, but a day or two more before I would consult a vet. My female's temp was back up this morning to 99.8 so back outside again. Good luck.
