How much land needed to hunt on ?

I have 8 acres of land. I wondered if that is enough land to jump and circle a rabbit on. Not to shoot just let the dogs run. People get pretty crabby around here if you get on their land!! How far will a rabbit travel before it circles ? I know buck rabbits are different.
Thanks

I would love to own 8 acres for myself! I would surely build a running pen, no doubt. A 4-5 acre pen would be great, and like stated above, you could make back the funds spent building it in pretty quick time by starting pups, selling out running time, etc.

I only own 1 acre, and my home sits square in the middle. I have questioned my wife about fencing the entire property and building starting pen but for some reason she is against me letting our yard grow up in briars, honeysuckle and multiflora that would be suitable rabbit cover. Go figure? LOL.
