The INDNR is proposing to change the dates on rabbit season to November 1st thru February 28th. This would be for all state ground and private ground. State ground early October season would be eliminated.

The Indiana Beaglers Alliance is looking for feedback from all those that hunt in Indiana to see if this is positive move to better rabbit hunting in Indiana.

i personaly wished they would go back to season ending jan. 31

personally i think they should limit the amount 1 party can take in a day instead of 5 per person make it 5 or 10 per day no matter the group numbers!!! I have seen where 30+ rabbits have been slayed in 1 day by a group of hunters!! Maybe limiting them down a little bit would bring back the population in some areas!! Just my opinion

my buddy and concervation officer told me that they are looking into that
i would support that for sure

Yepp limit needs to go down ..nov 1st to feb 28 I.d vote on that , most of the time its pretty warm in oct.to kill them anyway unless things change ..rbinford1

Well my opinion on this is, if u run on huntington res. we only get one spot to run on n the summer an the early season,oct1, lets us run more on the res.I think they leave it alone unless they r willin to open up more of the res. to run on, for some its the closest place to run dogs on in the summer,gas prices. Its ur choice to carry a gun in october when runnin dogs i dont carry a gun until nov.

Also who is this helpin the rabbit hunters or the archery,deer, an the turkey hunters?

the best rabbit hunting is late season better runs cooler less hunters i say yes.

I agree with the new changes 100%!!!! It's normally too warm to kill rabbits in early October. We still see a lot if little rabbits up here in Norhwest Indiana in October. Let them get some more time grow & to have some more young rabbits; the numbers will take are of themselves. (Always have in the past) I was told by the Northern District biologist that it has already passed & will be implemented next year.

I know camp Atturbury did eliminate the early season starting this year. A C.O that stopped me out there the other night told me it was a last minute decison.

Poor me... Getting married next year on the first of November, I see where most of my friends will be doing haha...

not in Indiana but a shorter season may help the population. Next door here in Illinois it's the natural predators that are hurting them. Any rabbit hunters by Mr.Vernon or Evansville?
