We had and outstanding time sat.23 packs lots of rabbit, really to many, goodfellowship and good BBQ.Everyone of these pack could circle a rabbit and done it.I want to think all the new one that was there to try it out.THANKS.This sat Down East is having one and next sat Robert Dunn is having one.Alot of clubs are doing these trials now.

We are on our way of being AKC licn.We had 21 members sign up sat.I had a guy tell me sat.I ve been to alot of trials knowing my dogs can run a rabbit but put them in there with a different dog and speed.Well I want go any further with that.He said I heard more running today than all my 10 years in trial.Love it.I will be back.Give it a try.Two couple pack that is.

Earl, I’m just trying to understand. This format is new to me. When the club becomes AKC official, does that mean each pack that places in the top 4 will earn points toward AKC Field Champion?

If so, will each dog be an AKC Field Champion that meets the point requirements or just the entire pack of 4 classified as an AKC Champion pack??

I am with Troy how does that work? Maybe when a couple gets a FC title you could breed to both dogs.

No not FC but each dogs get Master Hunter.Different format.Troy an lee what I ve notice the 4 dogs have to be together not a car length apart.When you have a car length apart you don t have 4 dogs running the rabbit but some me too in there.There looking 4 dogs running the rabbit.There looking that blanket in the 4 dogs.I talk to Steave cox and he said speed don t matter.But the 4 dogs with speed that can stay in that blanket.You will win.Steave won the nal last year and the guy that won our trial sat got these dogs from steave and Steave said this was his slowest pack.So there is speed in there.You just have to know how to put it together.Thanks

I've been with Marty Holland while running his dogs a couple of times. We were in the same hunting club a couple years ago. He's a very nice guy but Marty may take offence to his dogs listed in the results as Fast dogs . Marty has always though of his pack as a lower end of Med-speed type . I would agree with him there.

When I hear terms like "Throw a blanket over them" and "Dogs can't be a car length apart" , the first thing that pops in my head is a slower more conservitive type dog. If this format doesn't favor a slower style dog ...I'll pay for the BBQ Hog next year on your cook out. You can prove me wrong by listing the bloodlines of those who are placing and winning. I don't think we will hear much Branko , Patch , Northway , Sock it to Me , T-Rex or Speedy Sport. I think it will be more like Tiny Bull , Odis Nip , Line Controller , Thorn Gap and Shorts Pro.

Your are right Troy. Marty is as good as they get.And his dogs are not fast fast but they ant slow.He is a good houndmens.And yes I will tell you when you turn out 4 dogs and there not in a blanket all over the place.You just as well pick them up.What alot of people don t understand.This is 4 FOUR dogs running the rabbit.Not One or two.They want them 4 dogs to be as one.I would say troy and lee this is not you kind of dog.But you re both are welcome to come anytime to eat and fellowship.

As far as bloodline on the dogs.I don t know.I don t have any dogs now.I am a lot different than alot of people .At trials I would love to make a friend than winning.And hunting.I would love to see a bed jump rabbit than hearing the dogs running it.

I had two guys come from Whitefull sunday thats been running in speed an drive.There dogs just could not keep up in that trial.Man they sure could run a rabbit.They were above med.Alot of guys just don t know were they need to be with there dogs.They talk like they would be at the next trial.
