ABC Fast Pack-Hunt #3 March 17 and #4 March 31

Post by PDBCPres »

The Pee Dee Beagle Club will be hosting ABC Fast Pack Hunt #3 of our 4 Hunt Series on March 17th and the Greater Pee Dee Beagle Club will be hosting ABC Fast Pack Hunt #4 0f 4 on March 31st in South Carolina. Our first 2 hunts have had great turnouts with over 60 enties in each trial. We also have had some really good running and at this point there has been no dominate hound. The Series High Point Hound now has over $400 to put towards the end of the year prizes. We again have a guaranteed $300 in prizes for this hunt, and trophies and certificates as well for the top 10 in each category. We would love to see some new faces. For more information or to reserve numbers contact Brian Hicks at 843-495-7397.

In the Fast Pack format all beagles compete in one 4 hour cast. Dogs are judged in three categories (Hunting, Trialing, and Speed and Drive). These 3 Categories produce an Endurance score. The top 10 in each category recieves points that are added up to produce the HGA score. Because of the different categories all types of dogs have a chance.

The Fast Pack format also gives you a chance to see how your dogs are stacking up against the competiton, as we have gruop judging. You will be teamed with a person familiar with the Fast Pack Rules to help understand and gain Knowledge of how the system works. But if you wish tosit at the truck and listen that woks too.

ABC Fast Pack has a 16" height limit. The entry is $10 a dog plus a yearly ABC club membership. We have a great briar patch to run in that is loaded with rabbits. We would love to see some new faces. We are looking to expand for next year with the series traveling to different states. For more info contact Brian Hicks at 843-495-7397 or Willie Welch at 843-618-5562.

We have had some interest from North Carolina over the last couple of days. It sure would be nice to see some new faces. The ABC board is working on and would love to see more people getting involved from different states. We are currently working on a 2 day hunt for the fall. First day would be qualifying for second day. You win or place high you move on. The second day the best of the first day compete. We are in the beginning stages, but if we have alot of interest we will probably move forward. The more interest the better the prizes. We hope it can be the start of something big.

We have given out alot of numbers for the trial this weekend. We are expecting between 80 to 100 entries and maybe more. Should be a great hunt with lots of competition. Entries expected from North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina.

We encourage the owners to have shock and tracking equipment on each dog for easy locating and recovery after the hunt.
The hunt meeting address is 43636 Sardis Hwy, Timmonsville SC. If you are using GPS a ten mile radius will cover running grounds on Birds Eye View.

We are looking to have a big turnout tomorrow. Already have some good folks from NC who have made there way down south. The conditions are probably going to be tough tomorrow. Its going to be warm. Hopefully we can run a few. The results will be posted the first of the week.
