Food at Trials

What kind of food do you guys prefer at trials ? I've seen breakfast from donuts and fruit to the works. Usually, hot dogs for lunch along with another choice. What determines whether you get food at a trial, cost or lack of variety? Would you take a chance on a casserole or a stew or meatloaf ? Seems like baked chicken leg quarters and a baked potato would be fairly easy, provided the club has an oven? Give me your thoughts. What do you cooks do?

I know that Sara's biggest dilema is knowing how much to make, because you never know how many people will show up. It's not like beaglers RSVP for trials. Things like cassaroles, sloppy joes, chili, stew etc... are good because you can reuse it in another dish or we can take it home for leftovers. Chicken legs or soemthing like that might get costly, especially if you buy for 40 people and 20 show up. She is roasting whole turkeys for the PP State hunt, but even that's a crap shoot. The only "for sure" thing is that Jim will always buy glazed donuts! lol
